Bio

Dr. Shweta Bagriya is an obstetrician and gynaecologist (OB/GYN) working with Guru Nanak Mission Hospital Dhahan-Kaleran, near Banga, in the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district in Punjab.

While she treats a wide variety of obstetric and gynaecological conditions, Dr. Shweta Bagriya holds special interest in infertility, having focused her studies on intrauterine insemination (IUI).

In addition to managing health conditions related to female reproduction, she also provides cosmetic gynaecology surgeries, such as hymenoplasty, vaginal tightening, clitoral hood removal and vaginoplasty.

Dr. Bagriya runs a monthly health camp at Guru Nanak Mission Hospital for pregnant women under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) scheme. Once a month, women receive free health care services such as health checkups, prescription writing and haemoglobin tests. They also receive discounted ultrasound scans.

In addition to her daily duties in hospital, Dr. Shweta devotes her time to educating young women and girls regarding anaemia, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and the human papillomavirus infection (HPV) vaccine. She began an awareness program on these topics at the nearby Guru Nanak Mission Public School and Guru Nanak College of Nursing.

Prior to her current position, she worked at Siddhi Vinayak Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan between January, 2021 to March, 2024.

She received her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2016 from Sardar Patel Medical College in Bikaner, which is affiliated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences. She completed her Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGO) in 2018 at Sawai Man Singh Medical (SMS) College in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

She later went on to complete her Master of Science (MS) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2021 from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Ajmer, also affiliated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences.

In 2024, she completed a 7-day workshop in Operative Cosmetic Gynaecology from AK Clinics in Ludhiana.

She currently holds memberships with the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
