Bio
Dr. Vikrant Rai is a Radiologist at Guru Nanak Mission Hospital Dhahan-Kaleran in the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district in Punjab.
As a radiologist, he specializes in diagnosing and treating injuries and disease with medical imaging equipment. He is qualified to use X-ray, computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound machines. He is also skilled at performing nonvascular intervention procedures, such as fine needle biopsy and guided pigtail aspirations, punch biopsies, pleural and ascitic taps and CT-guided fine needle aspiration cytology.
Prior to his current position, Dr. Vikrant Rai was a senior resident at Punjab Institute Of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Jalandhar, Punjab from July 2022 to June 2023.
Between 2014 to 2019, he worked as a general practitioner medical officer at Civil Hospital in Banga, Punjab. During this time, he also worked as a nodal officer on a polio eradication program with the Government of India, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO).
Dr. Rai is trained on the latest advancements in radiological imaging equipment and techniques. For example, he has worked with 3T MRI and a 128 slice CT. His interests lie in neuroradiology and body imaging for the musculoskeletal system.
Dr. Rai graduated from the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program at Government Medical College Amritsar Punjab in December, 2012. In April, 2022 received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Radiology from the School of Medical Sciences & Research at Sharda University in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
He is a member of the Punjab Medical Council, as well as the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association.
