Dr. Vivek Gumber is a general physician and diabetologist who has been working with Guru Nanak Mission Hospital Dhahan-Kaleran, near Banga, in the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district in Punjab, since 2023.
Dr. Gumber possesses years of clinical experience, especially with cardiac disease, hypertension and diabetes. He also treats tropical diseases, thyroid disorders, rheumatoid arthritis and a host of other ailments.
In his day-to-day role, Dr. Gumber performs detailed clinical evaluations, diagnoses illnesses, and develops appropriate treatment plans for his patients. He takes it upon himself to stay updated with the latest in medical research, clinical guidelines and other developments in his field.
Dr. Gumber completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Medical College (PDMMC), Amravati, Maharashtra, in 2007. His degree was conferred by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS).
After graduating with his MBBS, he worked as a medical officer at Bahra Charitable Hospital in Phagwara, from 2008–2009.
Between 2009 to 2019, he continued his career as a medical officer for the Punjab Department of Rural Development and Panchayats.
Dr. Gumber studied for a postgraduate, 3-year Fellowship of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (FCPS) in Medicine. He completed his fellowship at SMBT Medical College in Nashik, Maharashtra, between 2018 and 2021. His fellowship was conferred by the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS) in Mumbai.
His certifications include Basic life support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). He has also received certification from the National Diabetes Educator Program (NDEP), where he learned to help diabetic patients learn about and manage their disease.
Dr. Gumber has worked with Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) since 2021.
